MASCOTS Revolution Wants You!

If these things could speak they would say they were embarassed for Canada

This is my Poster for CGIA 215 that is a commentary on the ignorant representation of Canadian and Aboriginal identity. The parody organization Mascots Against Social Cultural Omission Tactics & Strategies (MASCOTS) seeks to protect freedom of speech and expression in Canada which has been super-ceded by the municipal legislation through bylaws which prohibit any anti-Olympic sentiment. MASCOTS already advocates the proper representation of Aboriginal and Canadian icons, figures and cultural products and lobbies against appropriation, alteration of and/or defamation of these artifacts, beliefs and ideologies of our cultural identity, and have now begun to campaign with other agencies and organizations against the Olympic agenda to make Canadian heritage, tradition and culture more marketable. Protect your identity and your freedom as a Canadian to express it-support MASCOTS today by visiting mascots.com for more information (MASCOTS may or may not be a real organization, all characters depicted are fictional and any resemblance to real life persons, places or cultural icons is purely coincidental. Side effects of MACOTS may include fatigue, greasy discharge, blood clotting, nausea, low blood pressure and violent mood swings-ask your doctor if MASCOTS is right for you.
